Pregnancy is scary. Today my history professor told us that she just found out that she is expecting. Last semester my education professor told my class the same thing. Apparently there’s four female profs that are prego like an Eggo right now. Now, being a dude, I’ll never have to undergo the process but it still is a bit freaky to think that women go around for nine months with a kicking little-dude-or-dudette inside. What’s even freakier is that I was once in my mamma’s tummy and now, I’m not. Weird huh?
“Perhaps if we saw what was ahead of us, and glimpsed the follies, and misfortunes that would befall us later on, we would all stay in our mother’s wombs, and then there would be nobody in the world but a great number of very fat, very irritated women.” -Lemony Snicket
I don’t know what this topic has to do with anything, but honestly pregnancy does freak me out. Women really are amazing creatures that I will never understand but must still appreciate in my ignorance.
Day-later Edit: Today I learned that one of the women (who was six months along) broke her water yesterday and they had to do an emergency C-section and, sadly, the baby died after only a few moments outside the womb. Please pray for her.
